We all process foods each day when preparing a meal for ourselves or our family. Virtually all foods undergo some form of processing before they are ready to eat.
Food safety is a shared responsibility of everybody involved with food from the farm to the consumer (FARM TO FORK). Whether a contaminant will pose a health hazard or not depends on many factors including the absorption and toxicity of the substance, the level of the contaminant present in the food, the amount of contaminated food that is consumed and the duration of exposure.
It is therefore a necessity for everyone to pay much attention to the safety of food during preparation/processing.
